The main draw was just that I liked the idea of reading the blurbs for the albums I already like

I won’t lie, this looks nightmarish

Jesus it’s two hours long!!

Edit: due to seeing how long it was I thought I’d better give a track or two a quick go to see if it was going to be possible. Master of Puppets with full orchestra is just weird, not particularly a Metallica fan anyway so it’s a no from me Clive!

No-one would blame you for skipping everything from Load/Reload, two albums that feel like they only exist to be played in inexpensive strip clubs.

turns out I’m skipping more than that! :grinning:

Some work quite well, but generally it’s all a bit odd.

Can sort of see why it’s in the book though, for what it is.

A bit of Ferry and Eno today!

333 I’ve definitely heard all th way through.
Only a handful I don’t know at all.

Not that many I really like tbh, would be a hell of an effort to listen to them all.

I’m just listening to Friday’s selection which was Booker T & The M.G.'s “Green Onions”. Quite a strange album this, all instrumental tunes a fair few of which are very recognisable especially the title track, although if you’d played it to me before this I would have had no clue who it was by.

Not sure about the prevalent Hammond organ though, it feels like I’m listening to some house band at an old folks home!

Today’s -

Pretentious prog version of decent classical album, hmm can’t wait :grimacing:

i was going to say The Gnome is such a prog rock song title but then realised they didn’t name it. oh well.

got Autobahn on Friday (not the best Kraftwerk album but good), The Sensual World by Kate Bush today. enjoy a few Kate Bush singles but never listened to an album, we’ll see whether i get round to it or not

having listened to Piper At The Gates of Dawn and Green Onions this morning I’m not sure if I can face ELP today! I think I need some evil black metal this afternoon as a palate cleanser!

Never heard it. Didn’t think I have heard of them either, then I found out the singer is Belinda Carlisle and it rung a bell. I always assumed they were throwaway for some reason, but this is joyous.

Started this on Friday but didn’t listen to anything over the weekend. So far I’ve had:

Julian Cope - Peggy Suicide (3/5)
Aerosmith - Rocks (2/5)
Roni Size - New Forms (3/5)

I’d not heard any of them before, so it’s worked out quite well for me so far. No absolute stinkers but the Aerosmith one was pretty dull.

fucking hell, reading this has put Primal Scream in my head. day ruined

John Mayall yesterday, Muddy Waters today. Blues week round mine apparently

The Byrds - Tambourine Man is today’s pick for me.

I gave yesterday’s ELP album about 2 minutes before I bailed!

No idea?!
