I listened to the new Feist and Cindy albums while reading some Daredevil comics and having a coffee first thing. I was hungover and they were both very soothing.
Been really struggling to find new music I love the last few years. Lots of disruption to my listening cycles for various reasons
Now my daughter goes to sleep to the same ‘calming classical’ playlist each night my Release Radar is pretty useless too. (Not that it was great to begin with).
I like the weekly release threads here but obviously it’s hard to get a sense of what I might like from a huuuge selection.
I’ve been listening to Jan Jelinek’s new record in between working which has been quite nice. Easing myself into music a bit atm to be honest, I haven’t had a lot of time to listen to stuff so I’ve been relying on stuff I know already.
Just listened to Bad as Me by Tom Waits in the supermarket (enjoyed, but probably only a mid-tier Ton Waits album for me). I’m over a week behind in both listening clubs so need to sort that out, but more focused on doing something on my decks today, partly due to inspiration from the club night I went to on Saturday and partly because I said I’d record a mix by the end of this month and haven’t even started yet. Will play this first and just see what happens from there
I wasn’t sure about this but I think it’ll be good actually - like a general catch up thread for random listening chat that might not be solo-thread worthy
Chilled out with 3 Body Problem and The Soft Pink Truth on vinyl after everyone else had gone to bed last night. Music is good, innit?
Also had the first disc (/playlist these days I guess) of Orphans by Tom Waits for the listening club whilst I was at the super market, which I enjoyed more than I remembered. Lucinda is a banger that I had not remotely appreciated in the past.
