Came here to post new Grizzly Bear, it’s lovely.

I’d add Brokenlegged by Sinai Vessel which I’ve been enjoying a lot. The whole record really, but Brokenlegged is probably the biggest tune.

Just looked this up. Is that the right song title? Seems to be the name of the album.

Yes you’re right! I meant ‘Looseleaf’

this is my favourite track right now

It’s from the Scottish/French duo Maestro who are on the french label Tigersushi and put out their debut LP Mountains of Madness in 2015

I guess this is the first glimpse of something from their next LP - not on spotify yet

It’s a woozy summer slowpaced thing with melty synths, flanged guitars, bird noises, walk on the wildside backing vox and a minimal sung/spoken lyric. It’s like Arab Strap doing a drunk-in-the-long-grass version of Pulp’s Legendary Girlfriend produced by Boards of Canada with some stolen Prince synth presets or something

it’s absolutely adorable. If the album is all like this I can’t wait

Here’s 5 which spring to mind, seany

This is my pick for Julie Byrne, but good to see her on your list:

Ancient Methods- Born of Ashes. I know this isn’t the “banger of the year” thread, but it’s definitely a banger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0we_TC8pwz4

Four Tet’s remix of A Violent Noise is sublime https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eIYIqcqtqw

Denis Sulta- Nein Fortiate: When the bass comes in it’s fucking heavenly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaRNvwrlIdE

Sevdaliza- Hubris: Lovely trip hoppy type stuff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYXZoxltYuU

Ulver’s reincarnation as a new wave act has no right to be as good as it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wq0Kb4bFNzg

This is my song of the year so far

Can tell it’s gonna be one of those I pretty much ruin for myself by playing it too much.

Have been adding bits. Keep your ideas coming.

“Bubblegum” by Confidence Man is one of my favourites from the year. Just so irresistably poppy. Also “Grand Dereglement” by Francois & The Atlas Mountains and “Twist Your Arm” by Ten Fé.

This has been stuck in my head for weeks

Algiers - underside of power

It’s so good! Draws from dub, dancehall, and psy. Proper kaleidoscopic summery fun.

Got to have Japandroids ‘Near to the Wild Heart of Life’ on this list.

Toby Driver - The Scarlet Whore/Her Dealings with the Initiate

Should really say Avignon since it’s probably the ‘hit’ but I’ve had this on repeat far more frequently.

Oxbow - Cold and Well Lit Place
