no defense of the VFX but i thought maps to the stars was decent. a bit slight but had some good things about it.

It’s a couple of good performances tentpoling a bingo card of basic Hollywood clichés.

Cosmopolis is by far the best I think. I know quite a few people who absolutely hate it, which I don’t understand at all tbh. I also liked Maps to the Stars a lot. Eastern Promises was kinda rubbish though.

how much would you have to be paid to go and see Downsizing?

while we’re on cronenberg, a dangerous method might be his closest to a bad film, or at least most disappointing given how good a freud film with viggo mortensen ought to be.

aye it should have been better than it was

A bit annoyed that the new Richard Linklater film is only showing in three London cinemas (and the Curzon Bloomsbury will probably have it on one of their shoebox-sized screens) :frowning:

lol yep mother! is definitely rubbish

£20 (I need £20) is this an actual offer?

It would be if I had £20

Cosmopolis - yeahhhh pretty much the same experience the second time around. Few good bits where the dialogue is actually given a chance to land but lots that doesnt really work that well. Some shocking green screen. Still thought the last act was poor. Weirdly had misremembered it being alfred molina at the end so that was quite a surprise, reckon he would have been a better bit of casting tbh! 6.5 rats out of 10

I had a very fun hungover day doing mine - tried to start a film but couldn’t face anything so just got on with my list. Sort of randomly entered a selection that I could remember, then used wiki to work through various filmographies for famous actors and directors etc
