Feeling good.

This is a tiny thing, but managed to do a bending and touch my toes for the first time since my teens. It was a small thing, but made me feel good about concentrating on exercise more, feeling better about my body and things.

Compede blister plasters work really well.

Also, make sure you are stretching properly after every run, especially quad stretches. I screwed up my knees when I first started running by not stretching enough.

Post-run stretching is super key, the amount of niggling pains and injuries I got from running reduced so much by making sure I just spend 5 mins doing some simple stretches.

Totally wasting my gym membership
just prefer going to the cinema to exercising on my own tbh

They should put treadmills and rowing machines in cinemas tbh.

Err what? Were you walking and he thought he needed to remind you that you were wearing running clothes? What did you say back?

Would have been funny if you’d told him you’d just run a marathon or something, and let him think you’re so good at running that you can do that without breaking a sweat or getting out of breath

So I went for an 8k run last week and somehow managed to jank my left hip. Given that I have to walk c.90 minutes each day as part of my commute, how long should I lay off running, and what should I do to add recovery/stop the pain when I put weight on my left side?

Probably until the pain stops to be honest

how do you lot warm up before a run? i would just walk for a little bit first but dunno if there’s something better i should be doing

I don’t. just warm down with a walk and stretch.

just run but slowly

The do a proper warm for the kids before Junior Parkrun, with big stretches, making circles with your toes pivoting at the ankles, running on the spot to get your knees high, and also so you kick your bum.

if I was sensible I’d do a bit more of that before normal parkrun :man_facepalming:

5 minute brisk walk :woman_shrugging:

just went for a run and feel like it’s ok to be alive again
