what chalk you using? have tried a bunch but am after something new.

liquid is the easiest and cleanest but it’s a bit shit. tried one of those chalk balls, but it gets fucking everywhere. big bag o’ powder is usually gives the best grip but it’s messy as fuck. do i just go with that but get a proper chalk bag?

feel like @sadpunk will know a lot about chalk

I used to have one of those chalk balls but they’re messy and it was a bit weird to use and carry round the gym

I got a cheap bottle of liquid chalk from Myprotein, does the job for me with much less mess

i was happy with my liquid chalk but it ran out and i went back to the ball and noticed it was actually way better. just messy.

I don’t tend to use it much anyway as I usually just wear gloves, only really get the chalk on when I’m going for a PB deadlift or something and using anything at all makes a big difference

Loose chalk or chalk balls are best for me, but they’re both messy :frowning:

do you not just use the chalk at the gym?

does chalk help with callouses/blisters?

Sounds like you need a special little climbers chalk bag

turns out you can do a run two days in a row

also stretching does actually make a difference!

probably depends on how long and intense your run is, I’m consciously trying not to overdo it and stop and walk for a bit if I am out of breath or in pain. Figure it’s better to get used to doing it regularly than one big run once a week that I can never really be bothered with

Have accidentally signed up to the Plus membership of puregym and can’t figure out how to change it back to regular?

£5 extra a month sucks but I get unlimited sports water /posh squash so not all bad hey?

I didn’t go to gym on Friday due to expectantly having to work until 8:30 and didn’t go Sunday because I was a little hungover and tired after the DiS meet on Saturday, nor could I go yesterday.

I’m definitely going tonight as I’ve noticed the lack of exercise affecting my moods again.
Working late until 8:30 both tomorrow and Friday, so I’ll guess I’ll be going to gym on Thursday.

I wish I had more spare time.

Noticing is such a good and important step though. I often don’t and wonder why I’m so full of doom. Will then do some sort of exercise and be all “ahhh THAT’S why I’ve been such a miserable dick all week”. You’d think I’d learn. I do not.

Yes last year I’d just skip going to gym when I’d had bad day and couldn’t be bothered to go out again.

I’m trying not to do that.
