As I say, I don’t think you’re wrong to be cynical! Horses for courses and all that

Me probably :joy:

Alpro milks are fortified with calcium and vitamins so I don’t think you need any dairy tbh

Boom!
First session is tomorrow!
Boom!

Have a 10k race in April that I’ve signed up to!

Unless you’re lactose intolerant, a pre exercise bowl of Greek yoghurt, a teaspoon of jam and a handful of nuts does the trick.

Calcium is definitely essential, but I don’t think dairy is the only source.

Love the idea you’re the Token Scotch at their Burns’ Night - are you catching the haggis yourself?

I have a recurring issue where I pull a muscle in my back and am in pain for up to a week whilst it sorts itself out so have decided I want to work on strengthening my core muscles and so today I decided the best way to do that was to go out and Buy the Nintendo Ring Fit Adventure pack and so I have just finished my first “play” on it, worked up quite a sweat just on the intro mission so I am more than impressed with it (I also beat the end of level baddie) . It has already persuaded me to schedule three weekly reminders for new sessions. An RPG with a built in exercise regime you can play in your own home…what a time to be alive!

I need to loose weight or I will have to start buying bigger clothes for the third time in as many years (think I’m probably going to have to loose about two stone to get into the old ones) . I can only partially control my diet being at the mercy of other’s meal plans. Not entirely sure when my ankle will be up to much exercise, and even when I am able my bike probably needs some serious maintenance I have no confidence doing before I can get back on it (mostly disc brake issues).

Halp :anguished:

People who only like classes run by people with 10K Instagram followers.

There’s a gym in basement of my building and they let us use the showers there if we cycle in or whatever. Looked at the prices as it would be quite convenient. £749 for 8 (eight) weeks. And the showers are rank.

any bike maintenance questions the cycling thread can probably help solve collectively :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s actually the Scottish diaspora lawyers event in London- I’m possibly going to be the least Scottish (by blood anyway) person there!

Groin went at football today :frowning:

Played football earlier today, after a 3 week break. Was easier than expected.

First 5k today after a couple of months not running, also made three massive batches of soup. At least trying to start off on the right foot.

Done 5 days of no meat, no crisps, no fizzy drinks and no eating after dinner. Plus I’ve walked to and from work every day for the last week. Feeling pretty good about it all so far tbh, very keen to keep it up.

I want to:

  • Keep losing weight and get below 12 stone permanently

  • Cycle > 2000 miles

  • Improve my power and climbing (currently about 2.8 W/kg, getting over 3 would be nice)

  • Do a lot more hiking and hillwalking

  • Stop eating shite

  • Eat less meat

  • Drink less swally
