Do not go full length, they will swamp you

I’m 5 ft 4 and Fabletics capris finish just above my ankle

let me ask her now!

I don’t want full length!! :sob::joy:

Oh so I probably want capris then?
I’m 5ft 2

I don’t know about sweaty Betty as I haven’t worn those, but yeah I’d probably go as short as you can. Does SB show you pictures of what different sized models look like in them? Fabletics does that and it’s quite helpful

Go for cropped power bottoms if you want actual cropped leggings, if you want ones that go down to your ankles and you’re 5ft4, go for the 7/8ths and they’ll be like full length on you.

Get those ones! They’re cute! Whatever makes you feel happy putting them on. Personally I do prefer the darker patterned ones to the lighter ones.

So far it all seems to be tall and slims.

This model is 5’10!

i’d probably say Capri if you like them properly cropped. I hate cropped, gets on my tits! Annoyingly they’re all black in crop currently as it’s winter. Maybe wait til summer when they bring out more prints?
I haven’t tried the all day ones either so not sure what they’re like

5’10 is not short :joy:

But I want my butt to look great now! :sob:

Capri looks too short, tbh, but if that’s on a 5’10 model then may end up as cropped on me?
I have one pair of decent leggings a PT friend gave me and they stop around lower mid calf, are super comfy and make me feel like doing high kicks.

Go cropped for sure, I’m 5 foot 2 and buy 7/8s when I want something that’s full-length on me. Cropped will probably be mid-calf on a short person.

I’m reluctant to call SB fatphobic as it’s probably more of a blind spot than intentional but they definitely have a problem with not showing their products on larger bodies or selling bigger sizes that I wish they’d address.

That’s because their clothes do not fit larger bodies.

Definitely not an inclusive company

True, I guess I meant having some of their XL and XXL clothes modelled instead of just their smaller sizes

I probably give them the benefit of the doubt too much cos I love their leggings

The last time I looked their biggest size would barely fit a size 16 - bit of a sham calling them XXL

If they made bigger sizes they would sell them, probably lots of them so it seems to me it’s a conscious decision to ‘protect’ their brand from fat people wearing them. Not for me.

Haven’t found a 2021 thread for this but just wanted to say that Everyone Active’s website is the worst out of anything ever

this thread is kinda the 2021 one

but i dunno if @xylo meant it to be just for stuck at home things

It’s awful. Just eventually managed to book a swim for Friday, after giving up four times in despair over the last two days

CW for dieting/weight loss (if necessary)

Reactivating this as I need somewhere to post/keep myself accountable and I don’t want to be Diet Guy on Twitter as I know people find it quite triggering.

I was steadily gaining weight due to overeating and drinking before lockdown, and when the city closed I went to town indulging my worst tendencies around food and drink. All told I think I put on at least 20kg over the last year.

With a small “micro-wedding” planned for July this year that, truth be told, I didn’t think would go ahead I finally pulled my head out of the sand last week and have been following a calorie/carb-controlled meal plan. Drinking in moderation (3 units max, 2 days a week) and using Fast 800 recipes.

I’ve lost 5.5KG in 7 days. Seems ridiculous and I’m not under the impression it will sustain at that level but extremely motivating after what was a really difficult first week (we were in quarantine with no outside space and I’d under those circumstances I’d usually default to drinking almost every day). After a couple of days of adjustment, I’m sleeping better and have way more energy than I’d expect given my calorie intake is around 800-1000/day (I’m almost 6 foot and currently weigh 115KG).

I’m aware that having a ‘target date’ is very different from finding a sustainable lifestyle change but I feel like I’m finally back on the right track after a year of feeling like I was drunk-driving my own body.

I’ll join you in the accountability stakes. That’s an impressive loss! Have been yo-yoing like mad all year losing the same few pounds and gaining them back (and more) but faced with the reality of (hopefully) needing to fit my butt in an airplane seat towards the end of the summer has focused my attentions. So it’s intermittent fasting for the next few weeks and I’ve downloaded my trusty c25k app to start all over again and we’ll see how this goes.

Thanks. It’s often this way on “ketogenic” or keto-adjacent diets, rapid loss in the early stages and then I usually hit a plateau somewhere between 5-10kg of my target. If i can lose the lockdown weight before the wedding at the end of July I’ll be satisfied for now. This has to be a long-term thing as between my historical weight issues and the fact I have hypothyroidism, there is definitely an element of learning to be comfortable in my skin and improving my overall lifestyle.

My office may be open for those who want to use it from next month and I think getting that routine back will be hugely beneficial (as well as providing the potential for 60 minutes of cycling each day).

Good luck!

I was hoping to do my updates in a couple of weeks at the end of June but I’ll be back to scatter some likes before then.
