Yeah I’d be happy to see Porridge Radio win something like this. It’s very rare bands from those sort of DIY scenes in Brighton/etc manage to catch the eye of awards like this.
always critically acclaimed though and she got a lot of goodwill from bringing the release forward at the start of lockdown.
Be surprised if it’s not Kiwanuaka, Marling bookies’ 2nd fave now. Look like albums profiled on BBC4 tonight at 10pm, then winner on tomorrow’s The One Show which i assume is from 7pm.
Anyone watching the thing on BBC 4? It’s made me immensely regret missing seeing Georgia earlier this year. Sports team are on now and look and sound like a Fred Armisen musical parody band.

Didn’t realise the Charli XCX album was a lockdown/fan collaboration album. Could go in her favour as a very sign-of-the-times album even if it wouldn’t be my first choice.

I think I like the idea of this Anna Meredith track more than I like the result. The Steve Vai-esque guitar is offputting.
