As it’s on the one show I guarantee it will be Dua Lipa or Charli XCX

Watching the one show for the first time in about ten years and it’s quite pleasant and enjoyable. Did the one show change or did…

Well-deserved. Happy with that.

The stats betrayed me!

(seriously though, good for him)

It was a toss up between Porridge Radio and Michael Kiwanuka for me so pretty pleased

Omg when they were like “…and now back to Alicia Keys, she’s lovely isn’t she Michael?”

What could you have got?

Didn’t follow the odds.

no idea, didn’t look

Certainly the last week or so he was 7/5 so you wouldn’t’ve been down the Ferrari showroom tomorrow either way

Well my pick would have been Anna Meredith as I’m a big fan of the noise she makes with her unconventional band. Porridge Radio and Georgia also OK by me. If I was a gambler though Kiwanuka was always going to be where I would have put my money as it just not going to alienate anyone.

It was a poor shortlist in my opinion, one of the worst I can remember, but of those nominated Kiwanuka was a worthy winner. An album I didn’t expect to like but ended up rating very highly.

Kiwanuka is ace. Totally understand why he has this reputation in people’s minds as being very MOR/Radio 2 - his first record was exactly that, and you never get a second chance and all that. Flashes of brilliance on the second though and this latest one is superb. Worthy winner.

5/2 at the start - favourite all the way through. Well deserved.

Definitely what I thought, but as you say, this album is nothing like that at all.

All his albums are great. His second album is his best imo.
