how do these threads work?

People vote for their ten favourite tracks and I put them all in a Spotify list (link in OP). We’ve done it each quarter throughout the year, so this is the final one. I do allocate each track submitted points from 10 (first) to 1 (last), and then reveal a top 25 for the quarter - so we should end up with some sort of top 100 once I wrap this up at the end of the month.

The ranking stuff is just a bit of fun - the main idea is just to discover music you might have otherwise missed. There are separate rolling threads for specific types of music (including the ongoing debate about what constitues “a banger”), but thought this offered something a bit different from those.

Not had many lists submitted yet this time, so be good to get some more in :wink:

Yeah could do. Became a dad a few weeks ago so have had my hands a bit full! Maybe quarterly threads was a bit much anyway though, so will look to do something at the halfway mark unless someone else wants to take over. Same format as last time?

Hi folks - I am going to start a new thread on Tuesday 1st June and leave it open for the whole month. Recommendation is that you lovely people post a list of 10 tracks you have enjoyed this year, with a few words if you have the time / inclination. If you desperately want to post a few more or less and add links or whatever then feel free. I’m thinking to move away from the idea of ranking the suggestions and tallying up points or whatever (just in this particular thread) - so will just put everything suggested in a playlist and share the link for that. Will then do this again in December. Hope that all sounds all right, ping me if not / other ideas, and look forward to hearing some great suggestions soon! :sunglasses:
