Ah, just realised the Anna Meredith track came out last year (her mercury nomination made me think it came out this year for some reason).

Too late to edit the list, so I’ll replace it here with: Moses Boyd - Stranger than Fiction

No problem! Great picks

Can I just a massive thank you for this thread and to the person who added Waxahatchee - Ruby Falls to their top 10 and subsequently to this list. I think I’d listened to Waxahatchee once before and wasn’t too bothered. Had this playlist on random today and that track just blew me away!

The whole ranking thing is a bit silly really, but it’s a great way to discover new stuff. I listened to all the recommendations so far today and some absolute belters in there

Afraid this is from 2018! Also I couldn’t find the King Midas Sound on Spotify - hopefully it will appear on there at some point in the future.

  1. Future Islands - “For Sure”

the rest:

Bleach - “Stupid Boys”
Protomartyr - “Modern Business Hymns”
Landowner - “Old Connecticut Money”
Fontaines DC - “Televised Mind”
Wax Chattels -“No Ties”
Touche Amore - “Exit Row”
Bdrmm - “Push/Pull”
Muzz - “Evergreen”
IDLES - “Reigns”
Young Jesus - “Magicians”

not the most diverse list, but still working through a lot of new releases and a lot of good albums didn’t have a standout track as such
