This is off my favourite tape of the year so far, Nyck Caution’s ‘Anywhere but here’ which is largely about loss and grief

This is a decent record by a Memphis rapper who is new to me, not dissimilar to the Griselda sound, also a little indebted to Freddie Gibbs.

An interesting record here, beats inspired by and sampling Portishead, with East coast rapping over the top

I checked out both of these after reading about them on the Cabbages newsletter. Was very sceptical about the Hus Kingpin one but some of it works really well. Weird mix of guests - don’t really want to hear Vinnie Paz in 2021, but the Breeze Brewin track is great.

This is pretty cool.

Only just listening to this as I wasn’t a fan of the last two things she didn’t. It’s really good though.

When was the last time he put anything out? The last Juggaknots LP?

Must be? He pops up on that His Kingpin album too, but can’t think of anything between them.

An overused phrase but he is the dictionary definition of underrated isn’t he. That verse on Trouble Man. :exploding_head:

The first LP is definitely one of the great overlooked rap albums. Real shame there wasn’t more interest/more material back in the day. Looking forward to checking out this new LP anyway…

New Droog and Fahim. Damn good.
Really impressed with Fahim’s beats and Droog is dope as always.

This is sad. Got to say I never really listened to People Under the Stairs back in the day, beyond some mates playing me their CDs at their place. I think it felt like too much of a throwback at the time, but I just went back to O.S.T. and was pleasantly surprised to find a really solid boom bap record. RIP.
