Ok, I’m still swamped with work, but this zoom call doesn’t feel like it’s finishing any time soon, so here’s the advent calendar thread.
Here’s ours. Normally I share with my other half and gave a chocolate every other day, but Montezumas in town closed this year, so I looked elsewhere and found one at Hotel Chocolate that has two behind each window.
Dark chocolate button thingy from Montezumas for me. The TV has two makeup ones - a Lookfantastic one she bought herself and has already raided, and a L’Occitane one from me which this morning presented her with a bath cube.
My brother has two Playmobil Back To The Future ones. Not sure why he needs two, but I’m kinda jealous.
I bought a cheese advent calendar from a fancy farmer’s market a few weeks ago but I’m wracked with regret.
Although it said ‘keep refrigerated’ on the bottom in tiny writing, it wasn’t refrigerated in the market and I don’t have room in the fridge for it (and it also feels like it defeats the point of an AC not having it where anyone can see it).
I’ve compromised by keeping it in the cellar which is fairly cold but I’m worried that it’ll just be a breeding ground for terrible illness and also that it’s not on display either. Should have stuck to lego…
Mrs f’s calendar. Please note that she is from Nottingham so this is actually really appropriate and thoughtful and not cheapskate.
Here’s how it works: every year her mum sends her an advent calendar. This year she’s had a few things go missing in the post so she was wary about this. I volunteered. So I cycled up to Crystal Palace, looked around the shops, eventually found this in Sainsbury’s and bought it with my own money. Mrs f’s mum’s contribution is to get the credit for it.
