Quite but I am under the impression that this is his it’s intended to work. Unlike their laptops, there’s no option for user accounts in iOS
Qobuz seems totally inept at picking the right audio output source. I can be listening to Spotify on my laptop, audio through wired external headphones, and when I switch to Qobuz it’s like “let’s play audio through laptop speakers!” NO! WHY! STOP! My damn headphones are plugged in ffs! Sometimes when I’m playing something on my phone, and my bluetooth earbuds are already connected, it’ll play through the phone speaker too. Have to go and manually choose the output source. So annoying and stupid.
Mine always plays from my phone first for some reason. ![]()
I don’t know why you’d expect it to pick the same audio output as spotify when it’s a different app. I know we all have our minor irks about these things but streaming culture has made the very small action of choosing an audio output into something we feel outraged at having to do…
I know what you’re talking about, but i kind of like that about qobuz that it expects you to choose the audio output rather than presuming
It’s also got a setting where you can play audio exclusively through the app and (apparently?) it’s better audio quality that way, so there is a reason that they’re choosy about settings.
It’s not just about what output Spotify has, it’s that my headphones are plugged in. Any other app realizes this and plays audio through my headphones. My browser, Outlook, Zoom, etc.
I’m really enjoying QoBuz. Noticeably better sound quality (especially over wired headphones) than Spotify and YouTube Music, no major gaps in the catalogue, I like the album reviews and ‘magazine’, it’s non-American tech (yes!!)…all good stuff.
However, has anyone else had issues with Bluetooth disconnections? For whatever reason I seem to get it a lot more on QoBuz than any other service.
We tried Apple for a bit but I’m giving Qobuz a go now. Really like it, but what’s everyone doing for podcasts? Not for me, but it’s all my wife listens to so wondering if we need to stick with Apple.
Always been happy with Pocket Casts for those.
Nice. Is that free?
The Apple podcasts app is separate to Apple Music and totally free, so if that’s what she’s using she can continue to do so.
It is for me on android, dunno about apple stuff.
If anyone would like a 2 month Qobuz trial, there’s 3 available at this link: https://www.qobuz.com/redeem/4168EC26
This isn’t some sort of referral where I get anything, it just popped up on my app & is definitely better than the 1 month you otherwise get!
I’ve been really enjoying Qobuz in the 4 months I’ve been using it — sure it’s a little clunky but none of the clunky things are anything that bother me too much.
My Wiim streaming box recently updated to support Qobuz Connect so that’s been a big help
Nabbed one, thank you!
I’ve a two month trial if anyone else is interested.
Same
Came here to ask about this. It’s intensely annoying. It doesn’t seem to do it from the family iPad so maybe my shitty old phone is partly to blame.
Are you sure it’s Bluetooth? I’m having issues with hi-res tracks stopping because they fail to buffer quickly enough, even though they’re downloaded. It might be the same issue. Got around it by downloading things at CD quality, which is still too high for Bluetooth to render properly. Check your quality settings.
Thought it might be that so I knocked it down to 320kbps streaming (I don’t tend to download). Still having the same issue.
I have issues with the flac and cd, but don’t have any with 320.
