  1. and

  2. are the same as yesterday. Actually felt a bit more awake this morning and chose a comfier chair. Felt like I slept a bit better last night.

  3. Stuff I’m grateful for: I’ve actually managed to catch the early train tonight! Which means getting home at a reasonable time. And I’ve got a seat. Second thing: I feel pretty alright today. I should remember that I don’t always feel a sense of dread… The times of calm are a bit of a relief.

  4. My youngest has started waving goodbye to me from the landing window. It’s a cute sight to have when leaving the house. She seems really delighted when I wave back, bless.

  5. One of my team came up with a load of great ideas for a project so I told him so. And I thanked my boss for letting me go early today

feeling really good after this wk. my first wk of work having someone to manage, think i was prob a bit worried about it on the quiet even tho ive worked with her and trained her before. i asked her to apply for the job coz i knew she’d be good at it, dunno why i was fretting. good old anxiety eh. anyway, changed my meds about 3 wks ago and i guess a combination of them settling down, trying to spend less time on my phone in the evenings, her starting and it going really well, general mindfulness stuff that ive been working on, ive been feeling really cheerful and relaxed in the evenings. things im grateful for: mirtazepine :kissing_heart::ok_hand:

  1. Lunchtime walk
  2. I will do this after i finish this post
  3. I’m grateful that my bf, who was ill last weekend, is now better, and that today was a nice sunny day
  4. Had to ask someone I find a bit intimidating to do something in person as he hadn’t replied to emails. Had been putting it off but it was ok
  5. Oh god I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel here. A member of staff posted something on a site I manage for work and asked how to delete it after I and someone else pointed out some flaws in what she’d posted (I wasn’t being mean, it’s what the site is for and it’s my job). When I replied I tried to be sympathetic and gave her credit for being brave enough in the first place

Day 2

  1. I went to do a little gym but nothing amazing cause I’m not feeling well.
  2. I did some deep breaths earlier at work
  3. I am grateful for crocheting! Cause it kept me calm and relaxed on the train for the first time in ages. Also for vegan sushi which I had today and haven’t had in such a long time. I really enjoyed it.
  4. My positive experience was having several little chats with my new work friend who I really like. She’s 22 and highly Christian which isn’t something I can relate to but I really admire her positive attitude and view on things. She’s also writing down 3 good things per day
  5. I am not sure I complimented anyone today! I’ll say something nice to my bf in a min.

Again, a very bad day, but I’ll try pull out the positives which I guess is a lot of the point of this.

  1. Not much exercise, a small amount of walking but that was all. Hopefully doing my longest cycle so far tomorrow morning so that should make up for it.
  2. Nothing yet, will try before sleeping.
  3. Grateful for the amazing support DiS is giving me, also grateful for the ‘animsls sitting on capybaras’ link epimer put in the evening thread.
  4. Um… I still struggle with this one. I guess though at the time I was feeling anything but positive, it was a good thing that I opened up in the mh thread earlier because people have been magnificent to me.
  5. I gave my mum a hug and said thank you after she made R’s dinner and gave it to him when I couldn’t (I don’t hug often, so it is a big gesture from me). Thanked DiSers. Put some extra items in the foodbank collection at the supermarket.

You’re amazing, FL. Takes a lot to find positives when you’re having such a shit time of things.

  1. A couple of brisk walks to and from the station, ten mins each way.

  2. Working from home today, spent an hour this afternoon after I was done initially meditating and eventually dozing.

  3. Really looking forward to having the nippers for the full weekend tomorrow and Sunday. Grateful for that time.

And also my parents’ support. They know I am not in a great place mentally even though I haven’t specifically talked to them about it.

  1. Drank a lot more sensibly tonight, to a point of comfort rather than just beyond.

  2. Complimented the lady in the l cafe or her homemade pork and chilli sausage roll that I had at lunchtime. It was just so wonderful.

Almost forgot about this today.

  1. Just over an hour and 15km of cycling. Felt so, so good.
  2. If it counts, I was really concentrating on my breathing for stretches on the bike, which felt like a sort of meditation while moving.
  3. Grateful that R had a relatively tantrum free day, also grateful that I bought chai latte powder.
  4. I chose to do some useful things on my cycle - scoped out parking at the cinema, went to the bike shop on the industrial estate and booked in my bike for a service and also found routes to some other shops.
  5. Didn’t do much with this today unfortunately, but not really had much chance for interactions. Can I do it now and say @meowington is great for starting this thread

got a bit lax with this so here goes a combined Friday/Saturday/Sunday post :+1:

  1. Did my usual walks to and from work on Friday, as well as a power walk to Covent Garden for the stupid Treasure Truck thing. Saturday and Sunday have been less good, done the bare minimum
  2. Going to try and do this properly later, had a few occasions over the last day or two where I’ve put my headphones on with no music just to give me a bit of peace and quiet to help me out.
  3. trying to stick with new things, so it’s lame but had a really nice chicken burger from M&S last week so having it again tonight, looking forward to it. my noise cancelling headphones are ace as well and really glad I got them, as I definitely feel calmer when out and about wearing them, especially on public transport, as mentioned I sometimes don’t even have music on, just use them to make things quieter
  4. Friday: got someone transferred to my team at work and they were so happy when I told them so that was good.
Saturday: after the football I went to the shops of the way home rather than go home immediately to get something nice for dinner - got a good pizza from M&S that I enjoyed and will investigate their other pizzas at some point.
Sunday: will get back to you on this…
  5. Can’t think of anything - will do better tomorrow and going forward.

not too bad I guess

Sat and sun in one too!

Yesterday had good walk around the beach and up some cliffs.
Been doing nostril breathing in the mornings, I really like it. Also went to church this morning which I find a great calm time to just sit and be thankful.
Grateful for my Mum for having a great range of material to lend me for school stuff and for Amazon prime delivering stuff I needed today!
Positive experience actually did a load of data work I didn’t want to do and it was fine!
Not sure I’ve done any of these today. Had father in law round yesterday for dinner and football despite his anti Reds bias if that counts…

Kinda got a bit lost over the weekend and Monday, so here’ yesterdays.

Exercise - lunchtime walk plus plenty of stair work with a desk move.

Meditation - 10 minutes before falling asleep

Positive Experience - Not drinking at football last night and having a lovely half time cup of bovril. Also got some unexpectedly super positive feedback from my boss.

Grateful For - Earphones for drowning out excessive noise from the office.

Act of Kindness - Took a moment to personally the girls running the desk move for their unfussy help with settling my team members in.

It’s hard to keep it up over the weekend!

So I’ll do yesterdays:

Exercise and Meditation - went to Yin yoga. God dammit, it’s so good. I get so much from it and feel so relaxed after.

Grateful for- Work allowing me to be flexible (woke up with a migraine yesterday so had to go in a little later) and supportive friends and family who have been good to me recently.

Positive experience- I had the courage to take back some cold soggy fries to Leon and felt brave being like errrr these are awful and getting some fresh ones.

Kindness - I complimented a work friend on her hair

hi meow

i’ve been checking in but tbh things have been a bit meh recently, so i didn’t want to post and bring the thread down. will return soonish i reckon, things won’t be meh the whole of november.

While I haven’t been doing this properly, I have been thinking of things to put in here most days even if I haven’t done it, so at least I have been partially adopting a mindset of trying to fi d positive things which wasn’t really something that I did before
