All bout Angel today!

New Jacob Nico (@BifoIsou) out on Disintegration State today.

It’s an intensely personal record, and I don’t think I could do the themes justice, so this is what Jacob says about it:

Created following a protracted brush with death and the development of a series of hallucinatory disorders, Fool Season is a brutal exploration of how to live when normality becomes impossible. Further, after crashing out of daily life, Jacob discovered that they’re both autistic and trans. The body, brain and world are in constant dialogue for us to exist, but when these lines of communication break down new ways of being have to be found, else we simply float in a partially-imagined void.

Lyrically it’s extraordinary. Excoriating, honest and articulate. Musically it’s just as powerful, and runs from relatively sunny shoegaze, to droning gothic organs and eventually total abstraction and drone. It’s the sound of a person turning themselves inside out to understand who they are, and it deserves to be heard.

I’ll be listening to the Jacob Nico album above, and also Kelly Lee Owens.

Got KLO going now and I am very into it, woke up early this morning, and is perfect hazy wake state music. Going to get a lot of play over the weekend.

Still trying to catch up with July / August releases. Can music not stop for a bit like films did?

The last international teachers of pop album was excellent but sadly went largely ignored.

New Pig Destroyer EP is all I have lined up today.

Oh and might put on S&M2 by Metallica for fun.

Must preferring this stripped back stuff from angel olsen. Last two records of hers I’ve enjoyed to an extent but nowhere near burnyourfire.

Would like to see Sharon van etten do a stripped back version of her last one too.

Got klo lined up for later.

Had no idea there was a new Angel Olsen (sort of), this is absolutely great.

Interested to hear AO because I couldn’t really listen to the last one, the production just grated far too much especially on headphones.
