80s setlist ideas

#1

Hi,
my school band is reforming for a milestone birthday for shits and giggles (we did it when we turned 30, we are doing it turning 40).
Our plan is to just do 80s hits.

Can you throw me ideas of songs from the 80s you think we should cover.
Band is 2 guitar/bass/drums/keyboard/male vocal.

This is for a party, so upbeat songs/anthems really would be best, maybe the occasional power ballad.

So far ideas we have are;

Video Killed the Radio Star – the buggles
Call Me – Blondie
My Sharona – The Knack
Final Countdown – Europe
Don’t stop believing – journey
Under pressure – queen/bowie
Love Shack - B52s
Nothings Gonna Stop Us - Starship

i know the collective hive mind on here will come up with something special.

Thanks

Just crank out a few of these…

She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult
The Whole Of The Moon - The Waterboys
New Years Day - U2
New Sensation -and/or- Mystify - Inxs
Dancing in the Dark - Bruce Springsteen
Don’t You Forget About Me - Simple Minds
Living On a Prayer - Bon Jovi
The One I Love - R.E.M
Should I Stay Or Should I Go - The Clash
Blue Monday - New Order
Lovecats - The Cure

…and it’s job done.

This is known, however in 1980 it had more success (worldwide) than 1979 reaching the UK top spot. So there will be an asterisk at the end on the setlist to deal with this.
Also, we already know how to play it, so we’ve nailed 3 and half mins already.
