Excited. Like A.A.L a lot more than his other stuff.

Anything new graced by the hand of Nicolas Jaar is worth getting excited about. FKA Twigs as a guest spot… I demand music now!

He’s been in the studio with Actress and Forest Swords as well apparently.

Spent most of today and yesterday listening to it, it is so so good that track that starts about 17 minutes in is track of the year for me so far. Bloody outstanding.

Thought there was a lot of wanking about on the mix and not a lot of time spent at the fireworks factory, a bit like that AEAEA thing at LGW.

EP is OK, but it’s a big departure from this project, and is it what I want from A.A.L.? From house and disco originals and edits to some deconstructed club thing with big guest features? I mean, I guess if it’s still good, I won’t care…

All in all, dunno. Jury’s out at this point.

Don’t like the new tracks, not what I want from AAL at all :frowning:

Was less keen on the FKA Twigs one, but really liked the Lydia Lunch one.

Space is Only Noise is back in vinyl for those interested.

(is there an all purpose Nicholas Jaar thread?)

Only given the EP one listen but really liked it. Seems like a Jaar release rather than something distinctly A.A.L. though to me.

And those tracks aren’t on the album?

All a bit confusing but don’t suppose it matters if the music is great.

Yeah I love these, and really looking forward to the album, but am very confused about what exactly A.A.L. is now.

There’s bits of the mix (which I presume is a bunch of the new album) which sound like Forest Swords has worked on it, or Jaar has sampled him, which is quite interesting. A couple of people pointed it out on the soundcloud comments.
