Really enjoying Rocket League. It’s nice to have something to pick up and have a quick 5 minute game. I think I’m starting to improve, but have a long way to go. Probably should have got the hang of it a bit more before diving into online, as I’m on a 30% rate at the moment
It’s harrowingly ridiculous that this isn’t one weird isolated case of “swatting”. It is bizarre that sections of the gaming culture that think feminism is so dangerous can’t (or probably more accurately, refuse to) see how absolutely absurd and horrible a lot of their own “culture” is.
Switched off the “opportunities” notifications in Hitman for a more free improv style
Done a spreadsheet for my backlog and cross referenced with How Long to beat and worked out that if I do an hour every day next year I’ll get through the whole lot.
I dread to think what I’d need to do to catch up, quit my job for one thing I reckon.
Online is where you learn the ebb and flow of the game. Positioning is THE most important aspect and you won’t get that so much from playing offline. The matchmaking is very well balanced IMO and you’ll find you trend towards a 50% win rate soon enough.
Been about 2 months since I played HZD due to loads of travel, xmas, and moving house. Really find it hard to play it for 30 mins rather than a marathon session. Someone make me psyched again please.
Also tempted to do a second DS3 run.
Yeah, I’ve learned to try to get into a decent position rather than just chase the ball - it’s my mechanical skill that needs work atm, when I do get the ball I struggle to make do what I want it to do. Reckon I’ll just rinse the goalie and striker training.
Just went to download some of the Giant Bomb end of year podcasts - jfc they’ve put out 25 hours worth of podcasts over the past 5 days! Think I’ll just listen to the last one.
I’m a massive fan of Giant Bomb and their podcasts but these GOTY podcasts this year were a mess, really hard to listen to, a lot of non arguments. There are too many people on it this year so the discussions just spiral around in a circle. I hope they change the format now their staff is so large in numbers.
I really enjoy listening to the Beastcast most weeks. Just attempted to listen to the last GOTY podcast and managed about half an hour of it - like you say, a complete mess with people talking over each other. Shame really as I really value their opinion and was looking forward to an end of year roundup.

Top ten list was good though, I just read the individual staff lists and called it a day.
I’ve started to do it more when I’m at the missus’ and she’s doing bits & bobs. Been trying to find a good MMO for a while so I’ve been trying things out. At the moment, I’m enjoying Ragnarok online classical.
I can certainly recommend Sword art online. It’s good for little burts and it follows the anime’s story well.
finished the Witcher 3 main quest - 70 hours worth, can’t see me going back for more. Might get the DLCs when they are on sale again
Watch Dogs 2 is next I think, mostly because it is a bit shorter.

Certainly looks in keeping with the artwork of ICO etc so hopefully indicates work on a new game, though I hope it doesn’t take as long to arrive as The Last Guardian.
Updated my Xbone finally after not turning it on for 6 months. The new dash is great, I instantly picked up Subnautica and Astroneer on sale.
Starting to feel like I’m might defect back to Microsoft on the next console generation. Only thing stopping me now is the investment I’ve made into my PS4.
There are too many games now. Do you think we could maybe ask them to stop making games for a couple of years so we can catch up?
