I’ve been trying to get into Rayman Origins, and it’s all very charming and absurdist and that… but the controls are wooly as fuck and it’s putting me right off.

Why’s that Bamnan?

Oh man, there’s too many games I’m interested in right now. This, Dishonoured 2, Hitman, Resi 7, Night in the Woods (and no doubt a bunch of other indies, too). Too little time. Can’t complain though, they ain’t going anywhere.

There are ways of combining the two, you know…

Aye, I’m looking forward to it. I decided to platinum bb though and it’s taking ages. Also I bought Darkest Dungeon on a whim (which you should try by the way if you like the setting of bb and you’re into Xcom style games).

Got started on Rise of the Tomb Raider. It’s just the same game as the last one but with cards, isn’t it?

The new stealth gun on Black Ops III

Its perfectly acceptable for a 37 year old man to take the Monday after a new Zelda comes out off as annual leave, right? A Monday where his wife and kid are out…

I’m thinking of taking AT LEAST a long weekend for the Mass Effect release, if that makes you feel any better.

Haven’t done that for a game since, ahem, a World of Warcraft expansion.

Finished Oxenfree last night. It’s a short-ish adventure game that’s kind of like Stranger Things and Life is Strange. About a group of teenagers that open up a portal into another dimension. The dialogue is really great, it’s similiar to the Telltale stuff but a lot of the time characters will interrupt eachother which is a nice touch.

It flows really naturally, even though not all of the voice acting is superb, though I’m not sure if my problem is a really nitpicky one in that it’s not always recorded great? Whether characters are speaking in large caves or outside or in small rooms, their voice sounds the same, like if you close your eyes you imagine someone talking really close to a microphone. Not sure I’m making sense there.

But anyways yeah. Oxenfree. Really cool, surprisingly tragic and emotional.

I’ve started Soma and I’m really enjoying it, though the performance on my PC isn’t great and I don’t get why. Going to try and fix that tonight.

When we are at uni, a load of us went up to Manchester for a night out. A load of us, minus one of my housemates who decided he’d stay in and play a Warcraft expansion instead. We remind him of this regularly.

And you’re right to do it.

Heads up you lot; The Witness is 50% off on steam, so £14.99. Also available in a bundle with Braid for £16.48.

Anyone playing RE7?

I’m only 20 minutes in. Pretty harrowing so far!

It’s seriously immersive and genuinely scary. Genuinely GENUINELY scary.

I like the way that the shocking bits have not been hammed up or enhanced in any way with incidental music. Its so realistic nothing like that is needed.

(apologies if that doesn’t make sense).
