i got all my old consoles in a couple of boxes from my mum a while ago, was so ace booting them up, messing around with a game or two, seeing all the saves I’d put a million hours into etc. only one that didn’t work was my Mega Drive :frowning:

damn the gamecube still looks really fucking cool!

so glad I kept it. Me and my friends were planning on gutting our cubes and turning them into storage boxes when the Wii came out.

more consoles need to have handles IMO

Yep. Brilliantly designed piece of gear, great selection of games to boot. Miss it a lot. Shame Kdog lives in Cadiz or something.

too bad the controller was terrrrible though :frowning:

My mate had a final fantasy game that actually required you to plug in and use the current generation of gameboys as controllers instead (classic Nintendo!)

Suffice to say it wasn’t an improvement.

I have to say ‘Dark Souls in Space’ sounds, on paper, like the game I’ve been waiting for my whole life…

Yep, on paper. Suspect we’re going to have a LOT of souls-like games over the next couple of years, each with its own combat innovations (much like there are lots of FPS games with variations on the same core mechanics), e.g. Nioh’s stances, skills, and ki or targeting body parts in The Surge. What this will emphasise is what Dark Souls (1) and Bloodborne, in particular, did so well, which is the sense of atmosphere, subtle environmental story-telling, and excellent NPCs. Nioh doesn’t really do any of those - it’s just a wonderful variation on those core mechanics. It sounds like The Surge has played it a bit safe on the atmosphere front. Definitely hoping some of you lot take the plunge, mind.

New Life is Strange in the pipeline, apparently: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/05/18/life-is-strange-sequel/

I really hope it doesn’t continue from the first (because how? because why?) though I’ve seen some of the really irritating (and seemingly imagination-less) fans disagreeing strongly with that.

I really really want to get into planet coaster!

That’s still on my list of things to get, but I’m not confident my laptop will run it sufficiently well and I don’t think I’m creative enough to actually make it worthwhile. plus my theme park building itch got scratched (for now anyway) by Rollercoaster Tycoon on my phone.

I’ve got it and dicked about with it a bit, it’s loads of fun and relaxing but yeah the building is pretty overwhelming.

Download building designs you like off the steam workshop and stick to the ride design

I’ve got a hankering for that Portal Knights. Have any of PC types played it? I know there is a demo on the PS4 now.

man I really really enjoyed Prey! Not perfect as the combat got pretty tedious but the environment, atmosphere, music, pacing and plot were faaaaantastic!

Zelda’s got some tough competition this year

Red Dead Redemption 2 delayed until spring 2018

FYI, it’s a bit shit.

I ended up playing ESO instead. Still addicted to the PvP sieges.
