Almost finished Horizon, and wondering what to pick up next. Any suggestions? Don’t think I can stomach more open world for a little while though!

How was it? I just did The Proving and it’s getting going now (finally).

For me the world is incredible - everything is subordinated to its expression, so they’ve obviously played to the game’s stengths there, but the story is unbelievably generic, and although I like Aloy, I didn’t really feel particularly invested in her. Plus the last missions are a total exposition slog. But I can forgive it all that because it’s fucking beautiful!

Haven’t had anyone go klepto yet - just had lots of selfish/abusive types spoiling everyone’s morale. Just give the apprentice necromancer a solid kicking and I think I’m hooked.

Often more worthwhile to fire the clowns who come back with super annoying traits, diseases and/or loads of stress, at least before you’ve sunk loads into their gear.

I also highly recommend Radiant mode. Cuts out a whole ton of unnecessary grind without doing anything to the core “fuck you and your family” gameplay.

I thought about starting on Radiant mode but I thought I should try the full fat nightmare first. When it all inevitably goes south I might switch.

Got a new bluray but both my ps3 and 4 play it back at what feels like about 20fps and is just stuttery and annoying to watch. Anyone know of any limitations of blurays PS cant play? It’s a region-free disc.

Hmm, never had any problems myself. Shouldn’t be any stuttering either. Don’t know if you can turn off any background functions?

Are you sure your tv settings arent fucking this up, blu-ray play back has been fine for me

Got player unknown battleground. Time to die and score 99th place

Oooh, enjoy! Wish I didn’t have a PC that was over ten years old! :grimacing:

I turned off blurays connecting to the internet (why tf would anyone want this?) Which can apparently cause problems but hasnt helped. Never had a problem before, maybe it’s a duff disc?

Ive turned off all the shite settings unless there’s a hidden ‘drop numerous frames a second’ option

Maybe it’s a shit blu-ray. Bad data, shitty disc? I dunno there arent any glaring restrictions on the PS blu-ray players that I’m aware of.

Yeah, faulty disc would be my next thought. Have you tried other ones?

Ive put something else on and it looks the same. Ffff needs further investigation.

That’s really REALLY weird. Good luck! Hope it’s not the disc drive or anything.

Bit more like XCom. Sometimes the RNG beast will rear up and bite your face off, and you’ll feel there wasn’t an awful lot you could have done about it. But unlike XCom, failed missions rarely matter. The progress you make is (mostly) for good, and hiring more chumps is always free.

I think the game is epitomised by the Wyrd Reconstruction ability, which maxed out heals a hero 0-21, low chance to cause bleed. It can crit and heal your dude for 40. Or it can heal for 0 and make them bleed.

Seems to be the hdmi input i was using :expressionless:

I think

Maybe

Idk

Haha, never woulda have this problem with Skynet…

I am really loving ARMS. Never overly liked beat em ups before but adding in 3D movement makes it so much better. You have to think about dummy punches, what height to attack from, when to brave a throw, distance from opponent, weight of ARM attachment. One of those games like Splatoon that has taken a genre I can take or leave, make it easy to grasp within minutes but gradually kick your ass at to get good.

Can see it becoming an esports contender.
