New headphones were great. Can’t believe what a difference going wireless makes.

I’m still shit and slow at running. But at least I justified my roast dinner.

Awesome work! Planning to get my first >30km run in next weekend. Hoping for an improvement in the weather!

Had planned to hit 3 EFL grounds in one run but the wind was so bad I had to turn around and not go to the New York Stadium :frowning: turns out I was only about 500m away from it

Has anyone had experience with hip flexor pain?
I have had a slight pain in the front of my hip/top of thigh for the last week and today it’s got so much worse when I try to run or even walk or put the weight on that leg.

Proper gutted as I’ve hit loads of sprinting PBs during my HIIT class and scared of losing my fitness but fuck it hurts!!

I haven’t personally but I know people who have. Get your gait checked. Might be worth getting new shoes, insoles or trying to change your landing pattern based on what they say

@meowington May also be worth a visit to a sports therapist to see if you’ve got a muscle imbalance that’s contributing to the problem. Obviously £££, but a session can be valuable in diagnosing the actual cause.

My current running shoes may be a bit worn as I’ve had them for a long time. Is this a sign to get new shoes?

I was awake all night as even when I toss and turn, my hip/leg really hurts! :sob:

Thanks, I might do that yeah. I was doing fine but it’s been about 4 months of intense exercise especially running on hills and sprinting that it’s obvs just given in and I need to rest now which is driving me utterly insane!

I’ve ordered some new shoes and gonna grab a foam roller at lunch time

Did you get your gait analysed for them? It’s well worth doing if not, it’s pretty much eradicated my post-run pain.

I did before a while ago and I’ve stuck to the same brand/style of shoe which they just change the outside print of each year (Nike Pegasus Zoom btw). I’m on my third one and they’ve worked pretty well for me so I don’t particularly want to change. I have been going to the gym every day and doing weights, running and spin classes and my instructor said it could be from the spin class and pulling my feet up on the bike rather than the running.

I’m going to take a rest this week and switch it up to yoga. I think I may not be stretching nearly enough after classes/runs. It’s just a simple 5 min stretch rather than proper 15 mins which I think I need.

Nice one. I’m a fucking knobhead for not stretching off as well, did 15km on Saturday which was my longest run in ages and just sat down for the rest of the day post-shower and my legs were in agony on Sunday, daft move.

^this, I’m fine with stretching after short runs but on sunday (when I probably needed it the most) I just flopped on the sofa and acted like a spoilt princess for the rest of the day

I think thats why I need to start doing at least one yoga class a week to get that stretch on. Or just take that little extra time. It’s hard though cause sometimes I do back to back classes so when i’ve been at the gym for 2 hours and it’s now 8:30pm, I just wanna get the hell home.
