Yeah, a couple of guys in the office have started a weekly pilates class and it’s working wonders for them but I literally just cannot even begin to imagine myself attending something like that

Also its worth noting that very recently I stepped up my sprinting and now can sprint for 30 seconds on 19km ph
When I first started, I could barely manage to run on about 13km for 20 seconds. I think my stride must be getting bigger which could have also contributed to this fucking hip pain

The bootcamp class I go to is called “Warrior” and a guy turned up last week, barefoot, thinking it was WARRIOR yoga haha.

I used to go here in Old Street which I used to really love and you can get a 30 day trial for quite cheap to try it. It’s HARD and all sorts of people go and it doesn’t feel pretentious or judgey? (A lady wrote an article about going there and she is a plus sized lady (although I hate to say that) and said she felt included which is quite tricky when you go to these yoga places as they can turn their noses up at anyone not mega thin)

Or are you just worried about farting?

I’ve started doing core classes too which is always good for improving anything but fuck me its hard

Quite worried about farting in fairness, I think I’d also just struggle to take it seriously, not based on anything but the whole thing seems inherently a bit absurd to me.

Work pay for Virgin gym membership so the classes there would be the ones I go to (the one near Moorgate), I dunno, maybe I’ll grow up enough to try it some day.

(I absolutely love the idea of Warrior Yoga)

Yoga for the male sensibility!

This is why I like the hot yoga in the 40 degree heat and humidity is because you are forced to take it seriously by no means of your own. Like you cannot even begin to think of anything else as it’s such a mental struggle. They like to to not fiddle with your clothes or hair between poses so even if you have an itch, you have to try not to itch it and it’s torture but also amazing.

Ah I used to go to that gym! I’ve tried anti gravity yoga at Virgin which i must say is bullshit

Broga, Jesus fucking Christ

I just got an e-mail from Strava telling me that I should think about getting a new pair of running shoes, having done over 800km in them.

Alright, mates, calm down.

I run 800km a week, mate

Anyone ever get a disconnect between their GPS watch and Strava at all? Bit weird as my Strava just syncs data from the watch but it’s added 0.4km to my most recent run that wasn’t there on the watch or on the native Garmin app. Does it work out distance separately based on the mapping or something? It’s not a big deal or anything but it’s a bit odd.

Are you syncing your watch to strava, or are you syncing your watch to the garmin app which then pushes it through to strava?

If you can get over the initial lack of energy, I find that running gives me more overall, as it helps me sleep better, eat better and helps my MH.

Maybe start with a few walks outside while the weather is a bit better and build from there?

The latter I think, not actually entirely sure…

Running at lunch today. First time for over 2 weeks since long race followed by cold/cough/chest bullshit. Still not 100%, but feel like I need to do something. If this goes ok, back on for a decent run out on Sunday.

I’ve joined da club! Haven’t really ran much in the last few years but hoping to get back to running 5k a few times a week. Might see if I can enter a 10k in a few months or something.

i’ve been getting these messages too, it’s like yeah i heard you first time. now i think they might have a point as for the first time in a couple of years i got brutal pins & needles in my right foot this morning. nursing a slight injury from some “balance & co-ordination” exercises this week but maybe that lack of support exacerbated things.

Some top parkrunning from the dis crew today. Managed my first sub-100 min half marathon

Great work! that is a very solid time indeed.

Ran a 10k PB today - sub-45 minutes. Pretty happy with that even though I regularly see folks in my Strava feed bashing out sub-40s.

Nice, I just did the same this morning. 1:39 clock time. Had perfect conditions, flat, no wind.
