A thread about all the rolling threads (for beginners)

Do we have a log of all the ongoing types of threads and how people can get involved?

Wondering if might be nice to have a brief summary for “n00bs”?

I know we have rolling (does this tag collect them?) threads by genres which are reasonably self explanatory.

There are the how good are they really (hgatr) threads (do we have an upcoming calendar of these? Who nominates the upcoming artists? Would it be nice to have a start of the month admin round up?)

There’s the listening to an artists entire catalogue threads

What else feels recurring enough to warrant a mention?

HGATR hasn’t been a thing for about 2 years now.
There are wtbs (What’s Their Best Song) threads now but there’s no set timetable or anything, it’s just as and when I’m able to do them.

Ah ok. I see the threads pop up and they’re usually finished. Was just looking at the twilight sad one, wishing I had seen it at the time to join in

Yeah they get used now as rolling threads for news about the artist in question which seems to work well. I got to 400 threads and ran out of steam!

Worth editing the titles?

No I think leave them tbh, easier to spot at a glance.

I guess for instance, I didn’t think to post the Brody Dalle latest on the QotSA thread or the Brian Molko story on the Placebo one. I guess I shoulda done (neurodiverse person struggling with social conventions and understanding norms )

Making new threads is never an issue though, so I always think that if in doubt people can just do that. The HGATR threads for each artist should come up in a search and I think most people know where to find them if needed.

I guess for me, any thread with over hundred unread messages I don’t tend to open as I worry a) whatever I’m contributing has already been covered so I don’t contribute b) it might not spark much discussion as a sub thread

Like, I’ve enjoyed all the spin off threads in last week about venues from places to stand to food options. I’ve really enjoyed hearing people’s stories and added some venues to my bucket list to visit one day.
