Ostend is like a classic British seaside town dumped in continent. Not a lot to see but there is a massive promenade that runs for miles and miles along the coast, could be good for a gentle seaside bike ride.

Stayed in Tournai last year when I went over for the euros. Nice little place if you need somewhere to stop over (although not a whole lot to do).

Centrum Ronde van Vlaanderen (tour of flanders museum) in Oudenaard?

Ride along the Schelde river. Sounds like a good ride.

I’d be tempted to stick to Flanders myself.

Yep – though currently we don’t have a free day in Oudenaard, and we will arrive after 150km cycling from Calais. Might have to amend that.

I have just bought some p-clips to try and attach a pannier to my frame.

current route:

Looks like a tidy route.

I’m off to Belgium again tomorrow.

Flanders :lion: (staying in Oudenaarde)

I’ve just searched this thread and nowhere does it mention waffles. This is ridiculous! If you haven’t had them then you definitely must. And then when you get back you’ll miss them so here’s a recipe which is loooooovely https://smittenkitchen.com/2015/05/liege-waffles/ [warning: James Martin levels of butter]

[edit] just seen James Martin seems like a bit of a knob https://www.theguardian.com/environment/green-living-blog/2009/sep/15/james-martin-cyclists

He’s a massive prick

*Sorry, this is 100% directed at James Martin and not yourself Ravens. Waffles are indeed great!
