Yeah just need to be a bit more organised about sending them back. Got the 2 at a time / 4 a month option which means in theory I watch one a week and send the other one back but if I want to watch two in one weekend the replacement might not come in time, it’s not the end of the world. They’ve sent out Logan, Guardians 2, Alien Covenant, Kong Skull Island and Spiderman (Jesus feel like a right weapon typing most of that out), so they have been sending new releases. It’s not quite as good as Lovefilm but it’s been fine, especially for £7.

I have experienced the slower deliveries but I’m never sure if it’s just my unreliable postman.

I also thought Xmas might be the main reason why.

I do feel like CP’s selection is better than LF though.

Yeah a whole load of those poor reviews for slow service are dated late December / early January which might be a bit harsh. Lovefilm closed end of October I think so most of those new customers will only have joined in the run up to Christmas when first class does take like a week to arrive. I’m sticking with it for now.

Also, one of those reviews says ‘not as good as Lovefilm, price a sticking point’, when I think the prices are exactly the same, the tariff I’m in is (might even be a quid or so cheaper).

yeah gotta say i’ve found their selection to be good. often have some obscure bollocks i’m half-way interested in. guess most of the people who are put out are ones who are expecting new releases.

I think the upper packages are more expensive - I used to pay four quid a month for 2 at a time/ unlimited.

I’m not unhappy with the service and they have responded quickly if I’ve had problems.

Lovefilm used to be more expensive, though?

It got considerably cheaper when they split it from the streaming service. I guess prior to that it included the streaming service, but it was absolute shit for most of that time.

I stopped paying for streaming because the choice wasn’t good and my internet wouldn’t support it.

Are you sure, I was on that package and it was NOT four quid for me!

No, I am now not sure.

Maybe it was six. My old LF total used to be £9.99 for both parts.

After they split it, I was getting 3 discs/unlimited for something around £7.50 a month.

They then dropped the third disc and put it up to £7.99, which was where it stayed until it shut.

Yeah that sounds more like it. I think maybe one at a time was four quid.

Turn-around time is definitely slower than Lovefilm, but impressed by their selection of foreign films. Think my subscription (2 discs at a time, unlimited per month) is £2 more expensive…

I don’t think my discs alone ever went as high as £8.

i’m on the same plan, it would be really good if i could absolutely rinse it and turnover a lot of films but isn’t really possible at the moment. bit of a swizz.

Reduce it to a fixed number

don’t tell me what to do!

It was publicised at the time that you could keep any discs you had at the time they closed the service. Sadly for us we just had war dogs!

whaaaaaaat? i sent mine back like a mug. don’t think i had anything good tbh.

Really, I didn’t see that. I still have Manchester by the Sea, which I’m not arsed about keeping. I also have Tree of Life, which I got ages ago and they marked as returned and sent a replacement even though I still had it. Still haven’t got round to watching it.

My daughter wears the cape from one of her Elsa outfits and her knickers and runs around striking a pose and going, “CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS! DUN DER DER DEEEEEERRRR!!”.

I haven’t seen the film, this was nan and pop’s doing.
