depends. if i don’t know what the tone will be, probably just play it safe with a single. if i know it’s going to be a melody i’ll try and time a doubler in a harmonic fashion. if it’s my brother i’ll just keep pressing it as much as i can until he answers the door to annoy him.

Freidland/Honeywell used to be the good ones to go for.

I think they also have an app that will make your phone ring if you’re out in the back garden too.

If you’re renting, it’s probably best to go for a wireless rather than hard-wired system, but you can get chime units that you plug in to a normal socket, rather than having to use batteries.

I mean it’s something if you were looking for doorbells would probably look at because it shows up in the search, it’s good and highly rated, but if you’re not fussed about it then you’d just go back and get a standard doorbell like the other ones, right?
