I think it’s a fair enough argument in the case of, say, a footballer out of his kit. When you think about it logically 99% of the time he’s photographed or filmed it would be in uniform.

Annoys me a bit when it’s a widely-popular TV personality, say. People think their tastes are being judged, but it’s not that at all, it’s just general knowlege, isn’t it, the pointless information people absorb even if they don’t watch a lot of stuff.

yeah but I mean most people will probably recognise 9 out of every ten big celebs you could name, there’s always gonna be that 1 in 10. Reckon there’s tonnes of Hollywood movie stars I couldn’t point out. No idea what Chris Pratt or anyone who has ever been in a Marvel movie looks like except for Robert Downey Jr.

Actually find it stranger that I can be walking through the centre of Glasgow with my mate and he’ll instantly recognise some nondescript guy who played two games for Rangers ten years ago.

I mean he wears strong glasses and the players are about 100 metres away and running.

^this man is Michele Ferrari. He’s an Italian physician responsible for the advent of EPO and other forms of doping becoming so widespread in all sports in the 1990s. Lance Armstrong was his most famous client, but countless other cyclists have all abused his services since 1994. He is banned from all sport for life.
