A thread for Thursday 17 December 2020

3-10. Virtually. :skull_and_crossbones:

Is that out of work hours?! Brutal. Ours is tomorrow AM with the afternoon off. They’ve included lunch in the agenda but absolutely no chance I am sitting on Zoom wolfing down whatever I can spend with the £15 (so generous) Deliveroo voucher they’re offering.

Speaking of, I’m organising the work scavenger hunt. Are any of these shit? They will be in groups and have 20 mins so 15 should be a manageable number right?

  1. Something you’d put in a bolognaise
  2. Something Santa Clause would drink
  3. Something older than its owner
  4. Something that doesn’t belong to any member of the group
  5. Something that would help you survive being stranded on a desert island, that is neither food nor drink
  6. Something that features in a Christmas song that ISN’T a tree
  7. Something you’d find in a 1920s speakeasy
  8. Something all children want
  9. Something a spy would wear to a 90s rave
  10. Something to defend against a vampire
  11. Something that got you through 2020
  12. Something you can’t live without
  13. Something you wear beginning with a ‘p’
  14. Something that can be spoiled
  15. Something you intend to use more of in 2021

Straight in with the beeve generator, fantastic

All but 5,6 an 9 could be covered by a vintage Pinot noir that you’ve stolen from somewhere

100+

Yeah, there’s lots of mini events scattered from 5pm onwards so the numbers will plummet. Got a wine tasting though!!!

Thursday!
Willies!
Payday!
MOT!

in that order

If I have to pay off a few willies to get my car through the mot then I’m okay with this. I’m expecting a big bill. Cheers lads santas cryin

Was meant to have a ‘day off’ today but woke up very late so it hasn’t even started yet and got so stressed already I want to cry. Not much point now. I was only going to be wrapping presents anyway, so hardly relaxing…

Is this a live-action AQOS?

Its back, in Zoom form.

My afternoon is 4+ hours of back to back meetings which feels like a punishment for something, so I’m going to spend that time wrapping presents/eating malteasers and occasionally saying variations of “what did you ask me sorry? my internet’s been crap today and i missed it”

Just gonna be doing audit and queries for the next three days. Gr8

Going to do my last Post Office run on Saturday - so if you want a print, calendar etc, last UK Christmas order date is the 18th of December (ie tomorrow) https://shop.anoteonarainynight.com/

:frowning: the road outside our flat was resurfaced a couple of weeks ago at night time and there was also the sound like spades dragging. It was so annoying. Really sorry you’re having to deal with it still. I hope they’ll give you a break over Christmas!!

They’re taking a break between the 22nd and the 4th which at least will mean I can sit in my living room during the day. 10 months of constant drilling, it’s no wonder my blood pressure is high!

2 down, 1 to go
