well… it was just office banter. I wasn’t serious. Besides I heard you met your current partner on an internet forum so I assumed you’d be well up for me.

‘Becky’ has a meeting in Bournemouth today which facilitated an overnight stay last night. Despite her not needing to be at the meeting, ‘Michelle’ has vague diary entries which suggest that she too has spent the night up Poole Bay

Ooft! I’m sure I’ve asked you this before NV but is it just you that’s clocked this or are a few of your colleagues in the know?

We shouldn’t speak about this while there’s an HR investigation pending.

I need to get back to work.

Just me. Although there has been the odd comment from colleagues about their 2 hr lunch breaks…

How many times have you used that as an opportunity for an “eating out” comment?

Fair play for not spilling this to any work wives/husbands.

Well we both have partners and even though people say he likes me like that, I like to remind him on an almost daily basis that I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole!
Just because I have previously dated someone at work, doesn’t mean that I’m always game for a work based relationship GEOFF.

But I do always think with work crushes, you don’t crush on someone forever. Like usually you get to a point where you get over it cause you’ve spoken to them and they’ve done something cringe. I don’t think I’m particularly fancyable and I’m just like even if you do fancy me, I am quite gross and annoying that you MUST be over this crush now.

I have remained tight-lipped

I think I did about two years ago. In a small department we kinda paired up. We were the normal ones, obviously, and the other two were weird. Then she left and I became closer to one of the weird ones.

I’d go for a pint after work with the first one. We’d talk about things I would never talk to other colleagues about.

We’d joke together.

I’m not married but I heard being in a continuous union with one person forever is no joke :joy::rofl::sweat:

Or you realise that you’re only crushing on them because you’re really bored.

oooooof!

Any money this guy crywanks himself to sleep every night.

I think I kind of had a work wife for a while

I was recently separated and was in need of a friend - we ended up hanging out together a fair bit. She is a fair bit older than me so I didn’t think there were any romantic feelings on her part, and there weren’t on mine.

Anyway when I told her I had started seeing someone she started crying and I realised the situation was not what I thought it was :confounded:

I know this - was just saying HIS mind will be thinking you might be.

I don’t have any work crushes or whatever but yeah work does offer a unique opportunity for you to go “haha nah I don’t fancy this person any more now they’ve done that”.

oooooooooooooooof

Oh wow that sounds incredibly awkward man! Was she alright in the end or were things left a bit open?

luckily we had stopped working directly with each other - we just stopped hanging out

I still see her around the company from time to time (it’s a big place, and she is a contractor so doesn’t tend to be there all year round) - we are cool I think, but the closeness is all gone now
