Elmstead Woods is a cool small station - they’ve built a little garden with a fish pond on the central two platforms, and it has a bug house on one of the others. The staff are also very nice and get lots of postcards from their commuters which are up on the wall.

Thankfully.

@Epimer worth keeping an eye on the potential toilet ramifications

A song of train stations.

Timeless classic inspired by the Beeching Cuts https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beeching_cuts

They should redo this with Stephanie Flanders and Graeme Swann. And that would probably only be slightly worse.

[And yes I do know]

It would be infinitely worse, filth.

If I ever catch you trash talking F&S again I’ll knock you from arseholes to breakfast time.

Looks like Vardy v Rooney is yesterday’s news.

Not quite the same level of grandeur, but this is what happened to Cardiff Queen Street Station. It’s the busiest station in Wales, you know.

It’s all finished now!

My favourite station: Duirinish. Proper middle of nowhere, one platform, nice views, you have to hail down the train.

Least favourite: Glasgow Queen Street. As with King’s Cross, they never announce the platform until about 1 minute before the train is due to leave. Unlike King’s Cross, it’s still an utter hole.

I’ve never listened to an ILikeTrains song before. I liked it.

thats my favourite of their stuff, the other stuff that ive heard (this EP and their first album basically) is more mogwai-ish with lyrics about old stuff

I had no idea of that. Busier than Cardiff Central?

I’m wrong, Cardiff Central has the most passenger movements, but I think Queen Street has the most train movements (Valley Lines and the wee train that goes to the Bay)
