Only ever been to the new Penn station and it ranks as one of the worst in the world.

No worries

Mix of both.

Me too, bloody awful. Thought we were travelling from grand central and was all excited but checked the day before and found out it was penn. Oh well, I’m sure penn will be really cool too…

Budapest has two beautiful stations, Keleti

and Nyugati

Only big station I’ve used overseas was Sants in Barcelona and I remember it pretty much being the same as Birmingham New Street.

You could always shave some time off by using the quicker route to your destination

Better skateboarders though at Sants

Keleti has a truly charming announcement jingle!! I forgot about that

Crystal Palace train station is a lovely building.

I’m a big fan of when they rip out all the old boarding that was covering up grand rooms in stations, and you get to see what was behind, eg, the old first class lounge in Newcastle station, which was had all this boarded over so that it could be used as a store room:

Or this, at Peckham Rye

Lot of stairs though

Atocha railway station in Madrid is very pretty too.

I went to the open day of the Crystal Palace subway tunnel last year.

It’s really something.

Added bonus when I was there - massive statute of a pile of Ritter Sports

take out ‘statue of a’ and I’d be interested
