I’m no train scientist, but I think it’s a intermittent sign of protest against the travesty that was Lamar not winning his season of fame academy

On the tracks that pass near me I know they do it before an ancient crossing point that nobody ever uses, but I guess it is still technically ‘in use’ so they are required to honk as a warning.

(is what I’d say if you asked me)

Who did win, that Scottish lad? If so that makes a lot of sense.

Hey man, there was a shop in my hometown named Hinges & Brackets.

I am ok thank you but also exhausted, how are you?

Good. I bought a house, and have since used a drill to attach curtains to the wall!

Only one set, mind.

@stickboy did you ever make music under that alias and in particular did you ever collaborate with Run Toto Run?

Hi.

I did indeed. When Rach (singer) was starting the project I had a hand in producing some demos and things.

Do you know them?

Ah, no way! I used to live with Matt but towards the end of RTR’s existence. I remember trying to freecycle a load of t-shirts and demos when we moved out of that house

Ha maybe you had a hand in the tote bags too. Yeh Matt is a great muso. Proper violinist too.

Small world.

Dr @Epimer

What are these plasters for? The little round ones? I can’t imagine an injury that would warrant a plaster that size and shape.

Toe edge. Face.

Always had him down as Murdoch.

Good for insect bites if you put a bit of sting relief stuff on it

@xylo

This doesn’t seem like a great deal of money so it shouldn’t be news.

I appreciate not everything is money but this is pure horseshit!

To save you time please answer this poll only

Also if you click the second option you own the typo

truth. in fact this bit in particular

Auctioneer, Chris Albury said he “almost fell off” his chair when he realised it was “the greatest work of science in the English language”.

He said: “It wasn’t the best copy in the world but it was complete.”

is utter horseshit. He works for Winter, who while not Christies nonetheless are EXTREMELY used to receiving and cataloguing Good Shit. This is a nice thing to find in a house clearance but it is absolutely not news, and he’s lying

Yeah if someone scored it on cash in the attic then fair enough

Finding a rare and valuable book is a solid story (though it doesn’t really explain much about it - was it part of an old and rare book collection? Was it next to a Dan Brown paperback? “On a bookshelf” isn’t exactly useful) but selling for what it did is meh.

@anon5266188 @AcceptanceIII you guys were talking the other day about a film podcast that sounded good but the podcast thread seems to have been deleted. what was it called? thanks x
