About 2 months ago I stopped drinking caffeine & eating sugar & drinking booze (I didn’t really drink much anyway)
The difference in my mental clarity and calmness is amazing
It’s also made me much more motivated to train/exercise
And as @he_2 says upthread drawing/colouring/doodling/writing/cutting out & sticking stuff - all of that repetitive hand-eye creativity is a really pleasant focus away from screens/phones/social media etc.
It has the same or similar effect to playing a musical instrument. I try & do at least half an hour a day - not for any end result but just for the doing of it and the being in the now
The two things that make me feel most physically & mentally tuned/open/relaxed though are swimming & singing (not at the same time of course) so I try & do as much of both of those as possible
If only I could crack the ‘getting a decent night’s sleep’ thing I’d be set
