Don’t know if there’s been a thread about this but I’ve just been this weekend. No spoiler alerts but hard to refrain from mentioning certain things, though I managed to do it.
Music as expected was always going to be 11/10 (who can argue with those songs!), also nice to hear a few slightly more obscure songs and the band were fantastic. Lightshow was spectacular.
The holograms…
Maybe I was expecting too much and I’m being picky BUT I was expecting a bit more judging by what I’ve heard. I won’t go into detail because I don’t want to spoil it for people but personally I think the technology needs to advance another decade in some aspects.
If people are still going to the shows, and the site is not the next in line for redevelopment, they’ll keep renewing it six months at a time, I guess.
It needs to run for multiple years to break even. They booked about a year of dates to start with and presumably would have moved it elsewhere quicker had sales fallen off.
If that’s true, it doesn’t have to be in the same location.
The venue and show is designed to be temporary/demountable, so whenever the site owner wants it back, they can pack up and go elsewhere (probably Vegas).
It’s definitely true (the bit about how much it’ll take to break even). And while it is designed to be taken down and rebuilt elsewhere, that’s currently a cost they don’t need to incur if it’s still selling well here. I’d think it’s more likely that they’ll build another.
