The last time I went out in Bracknell (10+years ago) I nearly got beat up (for no reason) and a lad pushed his girlfriend down the steps at the train station onto my girlfriend. If mine wasn’t there she’d have been fucked.

It’s a great place. So now I go to Wokingham* or Reading.

*though there are too many benders around there these days.

Didnt see me crying when Zone in Wakefield closed down

iconic

There is a fine choice of nightclubs in Wakefield for every decade experience though.

Never had any trouble in The Bugle but I was always with Scots people in there. It is, however, a really shit pub.

This place sounds brilliant. Wish we had this style of indie disco in Ireland.

does the Face Bar still exist? that’s the only place I’ve ever really been to in Reading

Pretty sure it was still there when I left abut 2 months ago, though think there was rumours of that being turned into flats too.

Yep, still there. Still a venue etc - though upstairs area hasn’t been open for yonks

Update: Apparently planning permission has been refused.

is there anyone you don’t know?

I am pleased

I only know the finest people.

Who are you again?

If what I just heard Soogia say is correct, the Afterdark is closing down :frowning:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

THE AFTER DARK CLUB – A STATEMENT
As most of you are aware there has been a fair degree of uncertainty surrounding The After Dark Club over the past year or so following the decision of my landlord to apply for planning permission to demolish The Club and convert it to flats. The initial application was refused but my understanding is that the process is ongoing.
During this process I have been on short term agreements the most recent one being due to expire on December 31st 2017. Unfortunately my landlord has arbitrarily taken it upon himself to bring my occupation of The Club to a premature end.
It is therefore with very great regret that I have to announce that my time at The After Dark that we all know and love is now at an end. I take some small comfort that if my final night at the legendary AD was Saturday 19th August I finished on a high note with a happy crowd dancing right until the very end.
My association with The After Dark goes back nearly 27 years (longer as a customer) and I think that it is fair to say that I didn’t want it to end in this way.
I would like to pay tribute to the many colleagues that I have worked with over the years and to say a heartfelt thank you to the loyal AD audience who have supported me and The Club over many years through thick and thin. I hope that we can renew our acquaintance elsewhere in the very near future.
The After Dark holds a unique place in the cultural history of Reading and will be talked about for many years to come. I feel very proud and privileged to have played my part in The AD story.

The Cellar in Oxford looks like it’ll be closing too.

Might try calling her Sophia, in future!
