This is concerning news indeed. I was back in there only a couple of months ago. They still do the tenner for entry and 3 drinks, outrageous value. The back room had been done up, pool table removed and the whole place felt a bit cleaner (in a bad way, for my money). Still great though, had fun pestering the DJ for Talking Heads and dancing like an idiot.

Will be awful if it does close.

I remember when they installed some glitter toilet seats for a while, that really confused all the drunk people.

I hope they’ve still got the UV corridor between the rooms, that make g&ts glow in the dark?

I remember us having some consolatory birthday drinks at the AD with K and C, to make up all being in the Crap January Birthday Club. Like even when it’s January and you’re skint, it’s still possible to go to the After Dark.

Not strictly true. From my recollection, what happened in After Dark often spilled over into the Purple Turtle, or failing that just out in the street.
