Got to second the shout for Hüsker Dü, and add one for Bob Mould’s recent solo records


(think this video is clips from We Are The Best, which is a top film everyone here should watch)

It’s all desperately unfashionable these days, but some early 90s fraggle / grebo might also work for you.

I think Latterman may be what you’re looking for

Listening to a couple more of those, you might like some of the Joy Formidable’s more aggressive songs, especially Bats. Most of their other stuff is more dreamy.

I had a quick skim through a bit of most of these and I’ve come to the conclusion that you should probably have a listen to the album Rated R by Queens of the Stone Age

that Parts & Labour song is great but the rest of the album is nowhere near as good
