New thread because I don’t want to pick through the “blah blah books” thread.

Anyway… worth it?

#2

Heard it’s fucking huge. Hate huge books. Most aren’t worth it.

#3

I’m going to read it as soon as I finish my current “fucking huge” book (Neal Stephenson’s Baroque Cycle, 2/3 of the way through).

So… I’ll get back to you in a few months!

#4

Agreed - but if it was a 1400 page book I was really into - then I’ve truly hit the jackpot.

#5

I have it, but haven’t started it, because of the baby. Don’t know when I’ll get to it. Looks good though.

#6

I wander around a little bit aimless after a long book

#7

‘longer than the bible’

there is literally no way i would ever finish this book, even if i did want to read it

#8

It’s not THAT long in the grand scheme of things. It’s shorter than Clarissa, Atlas Shrugged, and not really significantly longer than A Suitable Boy and Infinite Fucking Jest.

#9

I’m trying to work out what the longest book I’ve ever read was. Not sure I’ve ever read anything over 1000 pages.

Anyway I just read a couple of snippets of text from Jerusalem in the Guardian review and can safely say it’s not for me.

No book is worth that amount of your time.
