Liberation Through Hearing
Join us for an evening of ceremonial Tibetan instrumentation, throat singing with Western electronic music, live projection mapping, and visual art. BlackMoon1348 perform pieces from their collaboration with the exiled Tibetan Monks of the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery exploring ancient, fundamental mantra, Tibetan ceremonial instruments and practice, otherworldly soundscapes, industrial electrics, and bowed guitars.
Understanding the core structure of Tibetan Buddhism, and the shamanic early practise of Bon enabled us to form the first ever of its kind collaboration with the monks of the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. Our collaborative piece, was featured on BBC Radio 6, with a live recording on NTS Radio.
The show will feature experimental electronic artists, established projection mappers, and a live mandala painting. The mandala is created spontaneously, a reaction to the music and surroundings. The stage will incorporate a mirrored light sculpture, representing the ice crystals formed deep within the Himalayas, with live projection mapping, reflecting beams of truth and spirituality in accompaniment to the music.
