Going to start this with an album I picked up from Oxfam today for £6:99, tried to leave it there but just couldn’t as it looked like an original pressing, which it turns out it is.
Anyone is free to do this, or indeed join in. No real rules but album should be listened to in full and comments made as the tracks play. Be nice to include album tracks as the songs start, etc, but none of this really matters. Also be nice to state if the album is one you know, or maybe know and haven’t listened to it for ages, etc, or indeed an album you have never heard.
Anyway, will start this after the Matthew Hudson-Smith 400m at the Olympics this evening, so roughly 8:30pm.
So, some background.
Artist : Creedance Clearwater Revival
Album : Green River
Year of release :1969 (turns out from a quick read up they released 3 studio albums in 1969).
Familiarity: I have never heard this album, (although I strongly presume Bad Moon Rising is a track I know from films, etc.
Notes: Will be interested if Green River has anything to do with / has any influence on the Seattle band.

Sounds like I imagined it would, but more Country style. Good vocal and guitar twangs, sounds of its time. Decent.
Great intro to this, gets rollin’ quickly, good lyrical imagery.
Nice guitar break. Like Acid Folk, almost. Good.
Laid back scorch, this is good, imagined they’d sound like this, but this better than I imagined. Great rock n’ roll atmosphere. Great song title too. Guitar strain on this is fantastic.
Wrote A Song For Everyone
More stretched out and slogging, slower, instruments are played very well mind. Proper closing time bar feels.
…and of course it is that song. A familiar Classic. Cranking up the volume.

Classy Americana feels, ambling by very naturally, Classic Rock with Country feels, nicely raw and earnest sounding. Nice bridge. No solo in sight here?
“I went down to the station…” almost Blues feel here, making me smile. Bass line is cool, guitars naturally lead off the bass. Quality rock n’ roll here.
Ooh, shades of Metal style, again nice song title. Moodiest the album has gotten, and it looks like the album will be over quickly.
Great guitar-slow-strain that linger and do not outstay their welcome, best track so far?
