Albums of the Year Lists: 2017 Edition

#141

The Quietus

#142

Actually knew most of it so they’re clearly not trying hard enough

#143

Along with Rolling Stone, this is the list with the least number of my (so far) top 80 albums of 2017. Just 2%. Guess I am just not a Quietus type of guy (mind, I also guess they won’t be too bothered by that). Hey ho.

#144

I like how they did lots of Bandcamp tracks for you to listen to as you skim through, even if some of there were No’s as soon as I clicked play. Mario Batkovic sounds kind of interesting, so might investigate him.

#145

Gorilla vs Bear

haven’t heard of most of these tbh. So I guess maybe I should read Gorilla vs Bear?

#146

Haven’t they done a top 200 the last few years? 100 is definitely enough. God-bless The Quietus but their year end lists tend to be insane. Feels like they’ve pulled it back from parody this year.

#147

Could really do with a playlist here. To separate the chaff from the good stuff.

#148

Dont Hype Williams have new band members now?

#149

Theoretically.

Sounds like the early stuff though and I think it is probably all just part of the ruse.

I’d say it is D&I but could be wrong. Like the album either way.

#150

Really good and interesting list

Have no idea who any of those bands/acts are.

God, I’ve only heard about 20 albums this year I think.

#153

#155

The more of these lists that come out the more ridiculous it looks that Kelly Lee Owens and Richard Dawson weren’t on the Mercury shortlist.

#156

Are they battle metal? I only listen to battle metal.

#157

good to see Richard Dawson getting the appreciation he deserves. personally preferred nothing important though to peasant

#158
