What’s the first album you remember hearing?
The first album I listened to and engaged with as an album (rather than something my parents put on in the car) would be Be here Now by Oasis. Though when I was really young my mum had a record of the Planets by Holst that I used to love.
What’s the scariest album?
Cw - known abuser of women
I still have to say Antichrist Superstar by Marilyn Manson was the album that scared me the most, but also fascinated me in equal measure. It was the first time I ever heard anything so dark and strange (when I was 13) and was a life changing moment.
What album made you cry the most?
Music doesn’t really make me cry, but Fevers and Mirrors by bright eyes was my depression album for a long time and the one I’d turn to when down in a hole of immeasurable sadness.
What album is generally seen as awful but you love it anyway?
Probably something by Insane Clown Posse, let’s just say the amazing jeckel brothers.
What album did you love when you were younger but you listened to it recently and realised it wasn’t any good?
Darkest Days by Stabbing Westward. Used to play it a lot but recently found it unlistenable…
What album means a lot to you, not because of its quality, but more for the associations it has with a special memory?
Muse -Black holes and revelations. I saw them play Leeds on that album tour and got together with my first serious girlfriend that weekend and watched them play in the pairing rain huddled close together. It was a genuinely lovely moment.

John Grant can always make me chuckle so ill just go with the Queen of Denmark.
What album do you find most relatable?
Probably also John Grant, Pale Green Ghosts.
