I’m not talking about singles compilations, albums like Your New Favorite Band by The Hives and Frengers by Mew. Which are released as standalone albums, but the majority of tracks are rerecorded versions of songs from earlier, less commercially successful, releases. Both are great.

Early times by Silver Jews has their first 2 EPs but misses out some split singles and a frustratingly hard to track down compilation track that is actually not great
