Also Rape Me from their sophomore LP Un Uterus

The Party Song might be the worst song ever written by a good band, but I feel like somehow this answer is still the best one.

Foo Fighters - There Is Nothing Left to Lose. I think a case could be made for any of the non-Stacked Actors singles.

RHCP’s Stadium Arcadium - Dani California

is Cant Stop off that? cause that is terrible

No, that one’s on By the Way, but that’s a good answer too.

I haven’t ever listened to that album in full but I simply refuse to believe that Hump De Bump is one of its lesser crimes.

You’re not wrong! Many crimes were committed. It’s such a strange album, the lows are ridiculous but the highs are some of the best material they’ve ever done.

Just the fact that it’s named ā€œDani Californiaā€ though seals the deal for me.

ā€˜Don’t Go To Anacita’ by Protomartyr on Relatives In Descent. Nothing wrong with it but it’s just an OK song on a mostly amazing album.

My immediate thought for this thread was ā€˜No I in Threesome’ by Interpol which is probably the only Interpol song I dislike- makes me cringe. Then I remembered ā€˜All Fired Up’ so it doesn’t count.

It definitely isn’t. There is too much lifeless dross on there for that to be the case

I was wrong on this one, Be Brave is easily the weakest on there for me. But I guess that was a single too! Lampshades on FIre is still good but it feels too much like someone doing an Isaac Brock impression at times. It’s hard to explain but for some reason the idea of his going into the booth and doing the vocals detracts from it.

Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory

I’m not sure if it counts because a) it’s a bonus track b) it’s a cover and c) the single version has added Vanessa Carlton vocals, but everything else on Counting Crows’ incredibly underrated Hard Candy is better than Big Yellow Taxi.

Boo Radleys did this twice - wake up boo, obvs, and Free Huey off Kingsize

I’d go as far as to say Lampshades is one of the only 2 good songs on the whole album (the other is Time Walks)

I was going to say Breakout was good but it seems it wasn’t a single so…

Struggling with the notion of RHCP albums being good enough that this thread even matters, TBH

Every track on Nevermind is outstanding to the same level so it’s sort of a cheat where you could pick any single.
