Probably my favourite musical discovery of the last few years, but I don’t think they are very well known at all. They didn’t release much music.

Pretty singular band, kind of a mix between Beat Happening and the minimal wave bands of the 80’s. The singer Lydia Tomkiw’s lyrics are more akin to poetry, and it’s fucking brilliant. Dark and funny.

The music is just a drum machine and a hypnotic, slightly ethereal guitar. Really simple but really effective.

David Greenberger is really interesting! Most of what he does is talking to people in old folks homes and recording what they say and then presenting it in different contexts. His music is hard to find online but really odd, funny, and poignant.
