Alien films in order.

Mrs TR and I have been working our way through over the last week or so.

Alien: ace. Looks amazing, Acting great.

Aliens: Mrs TR loves it. I think it is too long and too much screaming and way, way too much shooty.

Alien 3: We really like this. Would make a better stand-alone film without the alien saga stuff. CGI now looks crap.

Alien Resurrection: doesn’t make any sense. Scipt is madness. Winona is Winona. Some of the actors try, some don’t.

Where to go next? Not doing any of the VS one’s, obvs.

An answer before 7.30pm woud be ideal, thanks.

Alien is the best one by a mile.

One of my most annoying opinions that I actually hold is that Prometheus and Covenant are both better than Aliens.

Prometheus would probably be the natural next choice. It’s decent enough - better than Resurrection for sure - just don’t expect it to live up to the original. The assembly cut of Alien³ is an improvement on the original release imo, so if you already like that film you might enjoy the comparison.

If you’ve got something to play games on, Alien: Isolation is actually your best option though.

Prometheus is fiiiine, I thought it was okay, did not like covenant. To be honest they should have stopped going back to the well after alien 3. But if the first 2 films nail a sci fi horror and sci fi action film pretty much better than anything else there has ever been then it’s always going to be a case of diminishing returns.

And i hate to say it… I’ve lost my respect for you.

Saw prometheus at the cinema and it was a generous 2 out of 5. The other one was about the same except i forgot every bit of it, apart from daft flute nonsense, as soon as it finished.

I like Alien 3 but it feels a bit TV sci fi compared to the first two. Pete Postlethwaite was good mind.
