Has the J-Lew Siesta been ruled out?
The majority of most people’s life is spent in or on one of those two things (also shoes), which might go some way to explaining why people put such stock in them.
That’s absolutely legit as an approach if it’s what you wanna do. But the first place we bought didn’t get kitted out in ‘nice’ stuff. IKEA Klippan sofas and lack tables were the order of the day. Both are great value for money. Which was our priority: spend the minimum so that we could save enough to make the next step and get a place that would be for the long term. Which ended up taking eleven years rather than the four or five we initially expected! But I’ve no regrets about holding back and ekeing out the life of that cheapie furniture cos it’s meant that we’re now able to get pretty much what we want without compromise (or guilt that we’re overstretching). But as you and @geoff said, there’s no ‘correct’ way to spend our money.
